B.D.PUR is a gram panchayat or a semi urban village, situated in the Jagannath Prasad Block of the Bhanjanagar subdivision of the Ganjam district of Odisha. Geographically, It is located at latitude 19°56' N and longitude 84°35'E of the globe.
It is a gram panchayat of 'Bhanjanagar' Assembly constituency and 'Kandhamal/Phulabani' Lok Sabha constituency. It was earlier known as Tentulia-Sasan. Becuase there is a village named Tentulia and this village / the Sasan(where only brahmins were living) is Tentulia Sasan.
Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja) had donated a small area of land to a group of brahmins to discharge the prime duties like "Adhyayana(Reading)-Adhyapana(Teaching)" to educate to himself and to the people near by the locality, looking after the health hazards by keeping 'Kaviraj' to do research on Ayurvedic Medicine, to do puja or worship on behalf of non-brahmin & bhahmin community at last but not least, to spread the spiritual messages, which has been uttered by many many great pesonalities and The Almighty, God to achieve four main objectives of life (DHARMA-ARTHA-KAMA-MOKSHYA)
The people are very fortunate to live in the midst of natural surroundings. You can listen to the sweet songs of birds, enjoy the beauty of the rising sun and the sweet breeze of day's dawn, the flowing of the river with a murmuring sound; the beauty of the greenery of fields.
These are the various pleasures that abound in the countryside, for why it makes its own identity by differentiating from the towns and metropolitan cities.
